Friends, hello. I hope the New Year is finding you peaceful and well. We're excited to share that Invisible Hand has a publication now. I know it’s long overdue, but I’m a chronic late bloomer (we didn’t move to Brooklyn until 2020), and I am confident it will be worth the wait. Our goal with this publication is threefold: |
We live in complicated times. When things escalate, Invisible Hand often has access to high-quality information early—and trusted ways to help. We want to be here for our community when it matters most. |
You all make beautiful things and do world-changing work! Sometimes, we help. We want to keep our friends apprised of the good work happening in the world in the hopes that these efforts inspire and multiply. |
Invisible Hand is lucky to partner with incredible people and institutions who are working on many of the most pressing issues facing our society. It is more fun when we can tackle these things together. When we can be a gathering place for like-minded projects, people, and institutions—we want to be. |
To that end, please find a snapshot of some of the truly special moments we built together in 2022. We wish you the very best start to the New Year and look forward to making more of that good trouble with you in 2023. |
PS: I want to express gratitude for everyone in the Invisible Hand network; we wouldn’t be able to create change or progress without you. In recognition of your collective commitment to propelling the world forward, we closed out our year with donations to Marshall Plan for Moms, Color of Change, SisterSong, Run for Something, and Lambda Legal. PPS: Have a conundrum that you’d like to chat with me or the IH team about? Reply to this email, and we’ll set up a time to chat. |

| Invisible Hand is proud to have partnered on much of Spotify’s 2022 social impact work. Spotify’s “With Love” campaign makes for a beautiful listen. And it also marks the first time that an Invisible Hand campaign graced Times Square! |

| | It was imperative that Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr.’s beautiful, new PBS docuseries Making Black America: Through the Grapevine reached the souls it set out to serve: the Black community. Thank you, PBS and McGee Media, for trusting us to help gather communities across the country. Check out #DecadesofBlackBeauty, one of our campaigns on TikTok. |

| | In September 2022, more than 400 writers, producers, and executives got to hear directly from celebrities and thought leaders like Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson, Heather McGhee, and Ezra Klein about the most important conversations of our time. We are so grateful to have collaborated with Propper Daley on this project for the second year. |

| Small business owners, artists, and activists are the backbone, heart, and soul of local communities. Our team was delighted to help Meta spotlight rural Ketchikan, Alaska, and Boulder, Colorado, in 2022. It was a joy shining a light on their diversity as well as their determination to create safe, welcoming communities. |

| Midterms—whoo boy. We were proud to help many of our clients, such as Vote.org and Spotify, with their election efforts this season. And we were particularly fond of our work for #RoeVember, which helped organizations flood the internet with conversations about reproductive rights and climate justice. |
